iPrep

Background
As face-to-face interviews are becoming obsolete, companies are shifting towards web camera interviews.

While there are various resources on what to expect in your interview,
there is no existing platform on how to prepare prospective applicants to conquer their upcoming interview.

Our Vision

iPrep is an all encompassing interview prep application.
The primary feature is an interview simulation that gives users real time interview questions. Questions are aimed at the type of interview genre the user selects, following with feedback at the end of the simulation.
The feedback is based off of vocal pitch, body movement, eye contact, and even how well your answers match your resume.

Technology
The simulation will start with intermediate to complex interview sample questions displayed on the screen device.
The microphone will be enabled to track your vocal pitch, which will determine the strength in your volume. The camera will be accessed to analyze your body language, which will focus on your hand movement and eye contact.

OUR STORY
iPrep was founded by 3 undergraduate female students of Virginia Tech, who all share a passion and energetic drive in entrepreneurship. This application idea started when we were experiencing challenges when preparing for our individual interviews. After many Google searches of interview related tips and common questions, we found it cumbersome to have to read through what felt like a million websites. As we looked, we realized that there was not a single interview prep application available.

Then, the idea for iPrep was created.

To get this idea up and running, we competed in Virginia Tech 's APEX Center 2019 KickStart Pitch Finals, iPrep received 2nd Place, $700 in seed funding, and the Fan Favorite Award. We also participated in Virginia Tech's Entrepreneur Challenge and placed in the top 30 participating groups as semifinalists. Currently, we are focusing on the app's user interface and developing the concrete prototype. We are incredibly excited to continue our work on iPrep, build, and share our application with the world.
